C/2019 L3 (ATLAS)

Discovery: 10/06/2019

This comet has a long way to go, Perihelium is at January 05, 2022 – so we have over a year to go with this little fellow. It might reach mag 11.7 by then.

It was estimated around mag 15.5 at the time of this image.

I revisited this comet on sept 20 to make a longer stack. Roughly 2 hours, between 19 and 21 UT.

Another visit on november 03 and 04: the comet is still quite bright, this time I took the C11:

03/11/2020 – C11 Edge – 30x120s – ASI 071 mc pro
04/11/2020 – C11 Edge – 45x120s – ASI 071 mc pro

A quick break in the clouds and I was able to squeeze in 16 minutes of L3.

18/11/2020 – C11 Edge – 8x120s – ASI 071 mc pro

Finally another little break in the clouds;

The comet was close to LDN 1256, a dark nebula complex in CAS.
